Tough Mudder (our version)

Remember that hiking trail that we found?  Last night we decided to check it out.  It had poured rain yesterday afternoon so the the path was a slippery, sloppy mess (which managed to disappear on more than one occasion due to overgrowth - see picture #4) and I got a shot of water to the face more than once when a branch jumped out from nowhere.  However, the rain also made us feel like we were walking through some kind of tropical forest with everything being so green and that fresh scent of rain and plants.  Hey a girl can dream can't she.

So, do you want to know what we found?  Two gorgeous meadows, that's what!  I know exactly where I will be spending the next available sunny Sunday afternoon with a good book, husband, and a picnic.

We also saw Bambi (in the meadow no less . . . you think the guy would learn) and two of his larger Elk counterparts which got the boy I was with rather excited and me rather scared (don't they charge or something)?

As is becoming tradition, we strolled back to the house just about the time that we couldn't quite see our hand in front of our face.
